Pokémon Emerald
Pokémon is one of those games that defines me. I grew up on the franchise. Some of my first memories were playing Pokémon Blue. I'm confident that it was my first ever video game. The first game that I ever owned was Pokémon Silver, and it was all downhill from there. I sank hundreds of hours into Pokémon FireRed, while my brother spent time in LeafGreen. We of course played Ruby and Sapphire, as well as Emerald, but we never really owned them proper. Pearl was my next stop in my adventures, while my brother messed around in Diamond. Several hundred hours were also poured into those games as well.
I didn't pick up generation 5 until White 2, while my brother got Black 2. Since then I played X as well as Sun. I kinda fell off of the horse with Ultra Sun, and while I did pick up every other game in the franchise as they released, I didn't play them.
It wasn't until I picked up an Analogue Pocket where I truly picked up the series once more. I started playing FireRed again after not touching the game for over a decade. I soon began Professor Oak's challenge where you catch every single Pokémon available before each badge. It made for a great game while running on the elliptical and I had so much fun playing it. After I beat that, I then started the same challenge in Emerald.
